Reports: Napoli could be without star duo for crucial visit of Milan this weekend

By Oliver Fisher -

Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso will be without two of his main men for the visit of his former side Milan on Sunday, according to a report.

It will be a crucial early-season encounter at the Stadio San Paolo as Napoli know they can leap above the Rossoneri with their win and possibly even seize top spot.

However, it seems as though Gattuso will not be able to call upon two of his start performers, one of whom is another former Milan man in Tiemoue Bakayoko who did not participate in today’s training in Castel Volturno after sustaining a knock.

Bakayoko will be evaluated in the coming days, but his presence seems at risk unless of course today’s absence turns out to be a mere precaution.

Meanwhile, there has been a lot of talk in recent days about Victor Osimhen’s physical condition as the striker suffered arm injury during a match for his national team Nigeria.

His friend and journalist Oma Akatugba spoke to Radio Marte (via MilanLive) about the situation regarding the former Lille man.

“Victor will certainly miss Napoli-Milan – he should stay out for a while. The medical staff of Nigeria has let us know that he will be out for a few weeks, while he hasn’t told me anything specific,” he said.
