Reports: Real Betis have strong interest in Milan defender with key meeting set for Friday

By Oliver Fisher -

LaLiga side Real Betis have a strong interest in signing full-back Diego Laxalt for AC Milan, according to a report.

Just as it seemed as though the Uruguay international would remain at Milan beyond the window and be Theo Hernandez’s deputy, rumours have erupted over the past 48 hours suggesting Laxalt could in fact leave.

Spanish outlet Diario de Sevilla claim that Laxalt is one of four options being considered by Real Betis to reinforce the left-back position along with Jonathan Silva, Aarón Martín and Juan Miranda.

Betis are looking for a low cost deal, so at the moment they would want a loan with potential option to buy rather than the definitive sale which Milan want. On Friday the player’s agent will meet Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara to take stock of the situation.

Meanwhile, Calciomercato.com are also reporting that Betis have asked for Laxalt on loan with a meeting scheduled for Friday.
