Reports: Zapata, Ekitike and Jovic not considered last-minute options by Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan may be forced to look for an alternative target late in the window given the complications signing Mehdi Taremi, but three options have seemingly been ruled out.

As of yesterday evening it looked as though Taremi was getting ready to fly over to Italy and undergo a medical before becoming a new Milan player, however everything has been thrust into doubt over the past few hours.

This has led to speculation that Milan might well abandon the pursuit entirely and instead look for another last-minute solution to give Stefano Pioli another striker to rotate with Olivier Giroud.

According to MilanNews, however, the names of Luka Jovic of Fiorentina and Duvan Zapata of Atalanta – at least at the moment – do not appear to be objectives for the management with the latter seemingly Torino-bound.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com confirms Jovic is not a target, adding that there is no chance of a late relaunch for PSG’s Hugo Ekitike.

  1. I don’t understand why Milan management is not moving for Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla. They are desperate to sell and it’s possible to get a deal done for 20-25m with add ons.

  2. Not related to this but finally Tomori is selected for England National team. Hopefully he gets some minutes there. That would be good for us too.

    1. As long as he isn’t injured… but Gareth Southgate is a joke of a coach.

In the past (even in his peak in our scudetto years) he didn’t play Tomori in favor of Maguire, and nowadays they have new love called Levi Colwill. So we’ll see… Iam of opinion that Tomori is one of the best current England CB, but who knows.

  3. Disaster and huge screw up by management by what was otherwise a successful market.

One Giroud injury or just plain fatigue and we will be in serious trouble esp now being drawn in UCL Group of Death….

  4. No we don’t need a striker to sign let’s also learn how to accommodate our feeders team let’s give Colombo a chance to show case more this season instead of signing any further striker infact for now Acmilan is not lacking at all the only thing we just need is just the line up to revert to our 4-2-3-1 which can be effective now see this line up
    M.maignan
    Calabria, thiaw, tomori, Hernandez
    Krunic, rejnder
    Chukwueze, Pulisic/musah,leao/Romero
    (Colombo)
    Geroud/Okafor
Substitute: Loftus cheek,to replace krunic, pobega, kalulu,Kjaer, etc
