Repubblica: Cardinale and Furlani met with Middle Eastern investors

By Oliver Fisher -

A report has emerged suggesting that AC Milan’s CEO Giorgio Furlani held meetings while out in the Middle East about investment opportunities.

Today’s edition of La Repubblica (via PianetaMilan) has published another interesting article regarding Milan after yesterday’s long interview with the former technical director Paolo Maldini, who spoke at length about his exit among other topics.

Now, the paper states that there was an important management meeting between Milan’s owner Gerry Cardinale, the CEO Giorgio Furlani and some Arab investors. Indeed, in the last few hours some rumours have emerged regarding a meeting that took place in Bahrain between the aforementioned people.

According to news from the Middle East, the club could undergo a corporate reorganisation, though the details of it remain vague.

Yesterday, Italian journalist Maurizio Pistocchi reported that PIF are keeping tabs on both Milan and Inter having seemingly gone cold on the idea of acquiring Juventus. The Public Investment Fund is the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia, so perhaps the missions to the Middle East are more than just networking.

      1. Moerstedt is Giroud type (helping his teammate to be involved in attack), but we already have Camarda who have similar age on striker position.

      2. In U-17 World Cup, Mali attacking players, River Plate duo, and Paris Bruner are better options compared to any of French attackers. French reach the final as they were lucky that Mali got red card in the semifinal, they have hard time scoring in the knockout when their opponent have 11 players (only 2 out of 5 knockout goals were scored in 11 vs 11, the other 3 were when the opponents already got red card).

  1. Is this all a coincidence, or something is going on behind the scenes? With Maldini’s statement, some article regarding PIF and the board currently in the middle east.

  2. Like i said, at this rate i rather see Saudi’s acquire Milan rather than see Cardinale and his bi*ch Furlani destroying Milan with their clueless actions.
