Repubblica: Ibrahimovic responds to Sanremo critics – “Don’t worry, I’ll score eight goals”

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly pledged to make up for his absence from training next week by scoring a boat load of goals.

Ibrahimovic’s appearance at the festival has been a big talking point for several weeks now, especially regarding how the player and Milan would organise the week, and the poor result results have only intensified the scrutiny.

Il Corriere della Sera reported this morning (via MilanNews) that Ibra will be on stage every night except Wednesday when he will be on the pitch at San Siro in the match against Udinese. To prevent the Swede from commuting between Milan and Sanremo, the player will stay for a few days on the Riviera where he will train with help of a Milan trainer and a physiotherapist on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.

According to the newspaper La Repubblica this morning, Ibrahimovic has produced the same reply to everyone who asks him about the criticism of his appearance at the festival: “Don’t worry, I’ll score eight goals.”

The club are not happy with the fact that the Swedish striker will be away from Milanello for three days, but it is a situation that they decided to accept when the contract was renewed. If he were to score against Roma and against Udinese and Verona in the following games, all will be forgiven.
