Repubblica: Idea of a bridge contract emerges for Ibrahimovic at Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future is still unknown at the moment but the idea of a bridge contract has emerged, a report claims.

Through a statement on the club’s official website, they have confirmed that Ibrahimovic underwent an operation on his left knee in Lyon last week and that his estimated recovery time is 7-8 months, which has obviously raised questions about a potential retirement, though Zlatan is yet to announce anything to that effect.

La Repubblica (via MilanNews) confirms that the question of his future is taking centre stage in the offices of the management given that his current contract with Milan will expire on June 30th.

The latest idea is a bridging contract worth a few hundred thousand euros, which would cover the Swede to do his rehabilitation at Milanello. An actual contract would then be in January when he returns to the field and can contribute.

  1. just what i was thinking, we dont have to pay him while injured, let a contract be placed in january and placing game appearances as a priority too, but would be good to have him use our facilities for his rehabilitation catered by the club
