Repubblica: Maldini blocked Gazidis from speaking to Milan squad about Super League

By Oliver Fisher -

Technical director Paolo Maldini reportedly stopped CEO Ivan Gazidis from speaking with the players on Monday morning.

The media headlines surrounding not only Milan but football in general have been dominated by the Super League, which was announced on Sunday night but now already appears to have died a very quick death.

Speaking before last night’s game, Maldini made the shock revelation that he had no idea about the Super League’s launch until he saw it on Sunday night, effectively confirming it had been agreed without his involvement.

La Repubblica (via FI) are boldly reporting that Gazidis was blocked by Maldini when he wanted to explain the Super League to the squad. The paper claims that the CEO wanted to address the players and explain what was happening on the morning after the announcement.

However, Maldini apparently stopped his colleague from entering the dressing room as he asked the former Arsenal executive to ‘leave the athletes out of the management issues and to not mix business with sports’.

    1. You mean Singer out, Gazidis is just a puppet for the Americans, they control his movement. He was the same at Arsenal.
