AC Milan have introduced a new position in the club’s hierarchy after struggling badly with injury problems last season, according to a report.
Milan led the league table for the majority of the season but their title challenge fell apart early in the new year after a series of costly injuries ended up catching up to the team, with mounting frustration that other rival teams did not seem to be suffering to the same extent.
The online version of Repubblica (via MilanNews) have published an update on the medical department under the headline: “Athletics and injury prevention: the performance supervisor is born at Milan”.
The role in question is a new one that will be introduced by the Rossoneri, and the Performance Supervisor will have the task of managing the data collected on matches, training, injuries and other physical effects that the Milan players undergo. It will hopefully mark a step in the right direction.
