Repubblica: Milan place bid worth €30m for De Keterlaere and receive his approval

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are making progress in talks over a deal for Charles De Ketelaere having got the approval of the player, according to a report.

According to what is being reported by La Repubblica (via MilanNews), Milan have taken a step forward in their pursuit of the Belgian playmaker by making an official bid for him worth €25m as an initial transfer fee plus €5m in potential bonuses.

The negotiations are continuing and will soon reach the most crucial phase, with the Milan management pushing hard to bring De Ketelaere to Italy as he is the favoured target for the attacking department over Nicolo Zaniolo of Roma.

There is another bit of good news for Milan: De Ketelaere has given his approval to the idea of joining the Rossoneri which means that now the major obstacle is to agree a price and the structure of the operation with his club Brugge.

  1. Examples like this show how important it is in the strength of the brand and the name of the club. As soon as A.C. Milan and Maldini are mentioned, it is much easier to get the players’ consent to come, and even at the cost of a lower salary than elsewhere !

    1. Yeah, the problem is that someone will offer 10M more, they won’t sell to us for less money, same like Botman. There is no person or a club whose brand can remove 10M from the transfer fee.

  2. If M/M could secure CdK and Acensio/Antony for the RW, I will personally travel to Milano and lick Maldinis boots every morning the rest of my life.

  3. Honestly if we get CDK we should send Brahmin Diaz back and everyone has forgot about hakim ziyech the asking price for him is now 20-30m before he was 40m and I think we should pursue in Botman if Maldini says he will be the next best thing they we should go for him but let’s see what happens.

  4. They will definitely NOT be selling him for that sum. No way Jose!

Stop playing around and give ’em what they want before someone else will!

  5. Milan management is operating under a very small budget. Probably somewhere around 60 mil. What I do not understand is why not focus on players who are within our budget and lose time with players that the rich European clubs want. Or maybe it is the strategy of players agents to artificially increase their value

  6. I will believe it when I see him in a Milan uniform. He costs closer to 45-50M – and he is worth it – but I highly doubt we satisfy the demands of Brugge. The same stupid sources said Touchemi was available for 40M and Bremer costs only 25M lol. These are fake figures to get us all excited like we have a real chance of signing him. Same pattern as in past. We aren’t getting CDK for 25m plus bonuses. More like 40-50M. So unless Maldini has a magic wand up his ass – that he can get Brugge to give us a huge discount (despite CDK having another 2 years left on his deal like Botman) – this transfer (sadly) will not happen. Same w Botman -we waited too long and have no leverage with Lille. If he was in last year of his deal he could force a move but similar to CDK he has 2 years left so it’s difficult for him to dictate where he wants to go – especially when Newcastle is offering him and Lille almost double what we are in terms of salary and transfer fee. We need to be realistic. Redbird are same as Elliot. They won’t go crazy and spend half of our (alleged) transfer budget on one player. Bargain deals like Sanches and Origi is what we should expect. I wish and pray I am wrong but don’t see it happening.

  7. The only reliable source to trust 100% is Gianluca Di Marzio. If this sports journalist speaks its final
