Repubblica: Pioli decides to rest defensive duo against Udinese – the reason outlined

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli will rest two key defenders tonight in view of next weekend’s game against Hellas Verona, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of La Repubblica (via MilanNews) talks about tonight’s match against Udinese, during which the Rossoneri will look to follow up their excellent win against Roma with another three points.

Pioli will be without the injured Ibrahimovic, Calhanoglu, Bennacer and Mandzukic, but Tomori and Calabria can also be added to that last as the Milan boss wants preserve for the next league game against Hellas Verona on Sunday.

Therefore, it is expected that back four of Pierre Kalulu, Simon Kjaer, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez will be in front of Gianluigi Donnarumma for the game against the Friulians tonight, while at the weekend we should see both Tomori and Calabria slot back in, at least based on what the paper is saying.
