Repubblica: Pioli waiting for second negative test – he could return to the dugout vs. Celtic

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could welcome head coach Stefano Pioli back ahead of Thursday night’s game against Celtic at San Siro, a report claims.

Pioli tested positive for Coronavirus over two weeks ago now, and while Milan keeps doing well in his absence, there is of course a desire to welcome the boss back.

Since he had to isolate, Milan have secured a 3-1 victory at Napoli followed by a 2-0 win over Fiorentina in the league during his absence, either side of a 1-1 draw away at Lille.

According to La Repubblica though (via MilanLive), it seems as though Pioli is close to returning as he is waiting for a second negative test that would allow him to return to work with the group.

Between tonight and tomorrow Pioli will know the outcome, and his goal is to be on the bench for the match between Milan and Celtic on Thursday evening.

His deputy Giacomo Murelli is also waiting for a negative test given that he tested positive at the same time as Pioli.
