Repubblica: The stadium and media power – why Arnault wants to buy AC Milan for €1bn

By Oliver Fisher -

Bernard Arnault is strongly interested in buying AC Milan and a meeting is set to take place with Elliott Management, a report claims.

According to Wednesday’s edition of La Repubblica (via Calciomercato.com) – which cites sources of British high finance – Arnault and Gordon Singer will meet in the London office of the Elliott fund to talk about the sale of the club.

The luxury fashion tycoon is mainly interested in the business linked to the commercial and media power of football in the city of Milano, a city closely related to the world of high fashion.

The parties will also talk about the construction of the new stadium, now one step away, but above all about the use of the external commercial spaces which intrigues potential buyers.

Elliott are not moving an inch on their valuation: they will demand €1billion – or just under – for the sale of the Rossoneri just two years after seizing control.
