CorSera: Suitors continue to pile up for latest Italy star – Milan are among them

By Oliver Fisher -

Practically half of Serie A are interested in Mateo Retegui after his impressive first two appearances for Italy, according to a report.

Retegui has had a fantastic start to the new season in Argentina having scored six goals in six games for Tigre, and now he has netted twice in his first two starts for the Italian national team which has intensified the rumours surrounding his future.

According to Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), the team in pole position to sign him is Inter, as they have been following him for some time and they can use Facundo Colidio in negotiations given he is on loan at Tigre.

However, they face competition from Lazio, Atalanta, Milan and Juventus, all of whom are watching his development closely in view of the summer window. There is interest from abroad too, with Atletico Madrid also ready to make a substantial offer for the 23-year-old as per the paper.

  1. Theoretically this will be extremely hard cuz the price will go much higher. Unless the player himself want to sacrifice his wage to lower the overall cost.
