Samuele Ricci has been in AC Milan’s sights for a long time and, if reports are to be believed, plenty of work has already been done on the deal.
Milan have been linked with Ricci for months, with various sources claiming that an operation was being planned for the summer window. The imminent sale of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City only fuelled the notion that the midfielder would arrive, as one of his replacements.
Doubts over Ricci
According to what MilanNews journalist Antonio Vitiello is reporting, however, there are now doubts about Ricci. He states in his video that the operation is on stand-by and there is a high probability that the deal collapses.
Milan were very close to reaching an agreement with Torino in the last few days, but Massimiliano Allegri is not convinced he is the right profile tactically for the midfield that he wants to build.
Moreover, Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report that everything suggested that this summer the transfer of the Torino captain to the Rossoneri would be finalised, yet as time goes on it seems the track is not as hot any more.
There are doubts both from Allegri and from the sporting director Igli Tare about the midfielder. That is perhaps why the links with Nicolo Rovella, Adrien Rabiot and Matteo Guendouzi have surfaced.

Rovella is a much better player. He can actually pass the ball forward, not just laterally and backward.

Ricci is DM Ricci can catch the ball for you but he doesn’t know what to do with it while rovella is regista which means he is good with the ball he is play maker he can catch the ball too

Rovella is superior to Ricci and with Modric arriving I’m also not sure he is the right profile. It all depends on how Allegri is planning to use Modric and if he plans a 2 or 3 men modfield
This has come down to the fact we had no midfield since Kessie and Tonali left but a bunch of non functional players. Allegri knows the importance of having a strong connection in the middle.
Ricci and Rovella are completely different players. If Allegri wants to play a 3 man midfield, we need a true DM. Correction, we need two DMs and another deputy for Modrić. And if they want a stellar midfield they’ll get Rovella and Caviglia as his alternative. They need at least 3 midfielders if non of the loaned out stay and the unwanted are sold.

Why not try to get Rabiot Ricci Rovella + Free agent Modric?
Allegri needs to get Zeroli ready this season, the guy has a way higher ceiling than Ricci. Sign 2 midfielders outside of Modric and have Zeroli build his way into this midfield, we don’t have to waste money on average players when we might have a future star on our hands

recently watched Rovello highlight videos made several months ago and interesting how he dispossessed the ball from TJ multiple times. Very impressed with his passing and defense. Covers the entire field and does not shy away from the more physical players. Young, gifted, and Italian. Would be a great signing for Milan.
