Milan Futuro’s difficult start to the league season continued last night as they were narrowly beaten 1-0 away from home by Rimini at the Stadio Romeo Neri.
Cernigoi got the winner just before the hour mark in what was a hard-fought contest and it could be argued that the goal came against the run of play, given that Daniele Bonera’s side were very much on top barring a few moments.
Indeed, the Rossoneri were the more dangerous side over the course of the 90 minutes but failed to capitalise on the opportunities they created, but the end result is another defeat that means that Milan Futuro are without a win after five games.
Worryingly, the goal drought from open play continues after a game where Milan came close on several occasions, most notably through Mattia Liberali who was only thwarted by the bar.
The Futuro sit in 19th place – second-bottom of the table – after five games with two draws and three defeats, and they are already two points from safety so that first win needs to come sooner rather than later.
Milan Futuro’s next fixture – against SPAL – is just around the corner, another game that will provide an opportunity to come away with a win for the first time this season. That match is scheduled for 18:30 CEST on Thursday 26 September.
Whaat? last in serie C ? amateurs..
Might need to bring in a different coach. Not sure Bonera is doing what he needs to be doing.
Give them some time. Good defensively, bad offensively. Give Bonera some time to instil in them the necessary courage to attack, and to get used to the physical demands.
I think Abate team right now sits at 3rd. We had great coach, who did good wtih u19. And we lose it because Zlatan was sad that his son did not play(if rumours are true). Crazy to not give Futuro to Abaye and u19 to Bonera as he never coached before. But because of someones EGO, we sit at bottom.
There is no truth to the rumours that Abate wasn’t kept on because he didn’t play Ibrahimovic Jr. He didn’t win the league or the youth UCL. Furthermore, Ibrahimovic Jr has been excellent for the Primavera. That he plays is because he’s a great talent, not because of his father.
Bonera is not a coach.
Anyone who wasn’t expecting this clearly doesn’t watch lower league football.
The technical level is higher than you’d think, there is far (far) less space than in top level football and it’s twice as physical.
They’ll get used to it and probably be fine, however….
I support my local level 6 club here in England (English level 6 is comparable to or probably slightly better than Serie D) – and yes, the most exciting players are the young EPL academy drop outs, but the match winners are the 30 old guys who’ve spent their career at thelevel. We need some of them in January.
**That is, we need some seasoned (and top) Serie C players in January, not a bunch of imports from “The National League North” in England 😆😆😆
It’s not the coach. It’s children trying to play against grown men. And yet so many of you no nothing no it alls think that they should be starting for Milan.
