Former Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires has spoken to AC Milan forward Olivier Giroud about his time in Milan and the Scudetto win.
Speaking during an interview with Sky Sport (via Milan News), Pires said that he has spoken to his compatriot and that it is clear Giroud is extremely happy at Milan and with the Scudetto victory.
“I spoke yesterday with Giroud, he told me he was happy for the Scudetto, he is very happy both for the city and for the people of Milan. He says he eats well and he’s very happy.”
Giroud certainly deserves to be happy with the title win as he scored many crucial goals throughout the season.
One of the main turning points in the campaign was when he scored twice towards the end of a game against Inter to make it 2-1 to the Rossoneri. That stopped Inter from going 10 points clear at the top and their form started to wane after that.
He also scored twice on the final day of the season against Sassuolo to clinch the title, latching onto two identical assists from Portuguese forward Rafael Leao.
Our no 9 curse is finally got broken with Giroud!
14 goals and 4 assist. I hope Giroud can score the same if not more for the next season 😀
