AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli has bemoaned his side’s wastefulness in front of goal during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Juventus.
The Rossoneri played well at the Allianz Stadium and had the majority of the chances, but suffered a ninth defeat in a row in Serie A away at Juventus as Paulo Dybala netted a winner inside the last 20 minutes.
The result leaves Milan 14th in the table and nine points behind Roma in the final Europa League spot with the visit of Napoli due up after the international break.
After game against the Bianconeri, Romagnoli spoke to Milan TV about the defeat and his words were transcribed by MilanNews.it.
“Sorry because we played a great game. We didn’t take advantage of the opportunities we had,” he said.
“Tonight we were good on the pitch. It was a good game, we have to continue like this.”
There has been speculation surrounding a more permanent switch to playing a three-man defence, given the way that the time plays when in possession, but Romagnoli gave little away.
“I don’t know if we’re playing three or less. It’s a question for the coach, we do what he says.
“It’s a game that can give us confidence. We have to start from here.”
