Romano: Chelsea midfielder will join Milan in €20m deal with medical tomorrow

AC Milan have reached a full agreement with Chelsea over Ruben Loftus-Cheek who will arrive tomorrow to begin his medical, reports claim.

Gianluca Di Marzio writes how Loftus-Cheek will be a Milan player. The Rossoneri have closed the deal for the English midfielder, who will soon arrive in Italy to begin his medical checks and sign his contract.

Loftus-Cheek is in fact expected tomorrow in Milan for the routine checks and will therefore soon officially leave Chelsea, the club where he came through the youth academy and where he spent almost all of his career.

Fabrizio Romano confirms that Loftus-Cheek will be joining the Rossoneri who face the tough task of filling the void left by Sandro Tonali given his imminent sale to Newcastle United.

The journalist writes that it will be a €16m fee plus €4m in add-ons to Chelsea, and it might not be the only bit of business done between the clubs given the links with Christian Pulisic.

  1. He might turn ok. But he also might turn in to 20mil Origi. The risk is too big. Could have looked for some up and coming DM for that money. Simmilar like how we got Bennacer a few years back.

      1. Exactly what I was thinking. We could have gotten a really good player (SMS, Amrabat, Frattesi) instead we take a 20m risk… selling tonali for this? Embarassing.

  2. I think it’s a good price for the player (I don’t follow the PL as closely as serie a) but if he’s the only midfielder sign that’s not gonna do…

  3. Can you all justify to me where is moneyball?all the hype bout american moneyball etc?buy 20m 4yr contract then sell after 2 yr? Can we recoup back 20m after 2 yr?

  4. If milan going for yunus musah for 20m, then why bother paying 20m for rlc.
Could have signed another player like the one from udinese.
Well if he turns out to be good then it’s great, but so far he’s not very convincing.
Hope it’s not a panic buy from milan after tonali gone.
Or maybe milan just want to keep good connection with Chelsea, like how they do with Madrid?
