Mike Maignan was the topic of heavy interest from Chelsea earlier this summer. However, he did not move to London, and has remained with AC Milan.
There can be a lot said about the Maignan transfer saga. It all happened rather quickly and was quite messy. However, there is now a chance that he could renew with Milan, with reports suggesting that talks could re-open.

However, it could have had an impact elsewhere. Earlier today, it was reported that the Rossoneri have had a bid rejected for Guela Doue. This afternoon, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed this, whilst adding some extra information.
BlueCo’s problem
On his YouTube channel, the renowned journalist spoke about the links between the Diavolo and Doue, whilst also looking at the reason why their bid was rejected, as MilanNews relays.
“Milan offered €15 million to Strasbourg. This proposal is not enough to convince the French: this figure is not enough, with the transalpine club making a very high valuation, almost 25 million, if not more. Even just getting close to 20, might not be enough.
“This firm no arises from two reasons: the first is that Strasbourg does not want to sell Doué ; the second is that the ownership is the same as Chelsea, who were hurt by Milan’s stance in the negotiations for Mike Maignan that then fell through.
“In the same way, now, this ownership is maintaining its position regarding the player’s valuation and does not want to make any concessions.
Considering they are two different entities, you would hope that this would not be the case. However, it is frustrating if it is true.
Then it’s not compulsory or even recommended by a DOCTOR that we go for Douè…. There are several players we could go for
Dodo, Vanderson, Wesley… heck even Tomiyasu…
We can get Tomiyasu for free now. I remember when we had interest in him.
It’s the kind of behaviour I’d expect from anything linked to Chelsea TBH. NOT THAT I CARE – it’s Mike renewing that is KEY to Our long term stability and success.
I think people sometimes underestimate his value, both on the pitch and off it.
He is key for Us, even after a dip in form (ALL players have one of those, folks).
I’m very glad that Max (allegedly) feels also that Mike is central to Us.
Just send an offer for Dodo.
I don’t think that’s true for a moment but it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s lined up for a move to Chelsea anyway.

Tomori, Pulisic, Giroud didn’t get that much time and weren’t even close to being central to the project… RLC is still horrendeous, imo and Bakayoko only had 1 good season

“Maignan is N1 keeper for France… France’s best keeper for 15M?”. He is also 30 and has one year left on his contract, £15m is perfectly reasonable when he will be worth zero in a year! Also perfectly reasonable for Milan to reject if they think it is worth £15m to have him for one more season.
Tomori wasn’t cheap. And most important none of them was starting 11,Baka and Loftus not even bench warmers.They came for Mike offering 15 mil,they throw 200 mil every summer on average players yet they decided to play cheap on us if they wanted a respectful relationship they could offer 20-25 at least
We paid almost 5 mil for Giroud. Chelsea activated his renewal option when it’s clear that Giroud wanted to leave. And Tomori was far from cheap.
This is what goes on in this blog, always fighting hard to push a lame narrative just to make a certain legend the reason for Milan’s existence.
Really? Maldini signed Pulisic? Really?
Well, looking at how Pulisic and Reijnders have been our best players for some seasons now, more respect need to be given to a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Also, RLC was not signed by Maldini the great.
The most expensive transfer on the list (Tomori) was not by any means cheap for a reserve player, Maldini made that happen.
Bakayoko wasn’t cheap, we paid €5m loan fee and a substantial amount on salary, Maldini made that happen.
As for Giroud, I’m indifferent about the deal, but one cannot outrightly say it was cheap, however, Maldini made that happen.
And lest we forget, for the fans throwing tantrums when players demand to leave, “The Ghost” our very formidable Shevchenko demanded to leave the great Ac Milan, even with the maestro Berlusconi and Galliani at the helms, you know where he went? Chelsea.
Safe to say, we have had a relationship with Chelsea anyway, and it’s not because of Maldini.

Chelsea can go to hell for all i care …. who the fu.. do they think they are? Milan were right not to accept their offer and hold on to mighty mike.
Now all they need to do is to apologize openly to maignan for the way how the incompetent furlani treated him earlier this year and raise the original amount that was agreed by €1 or €1 .5 million – make up and move on.
And chelsea’s satellite can hold on to its doue ……
