AC Milan are moving forward in their pursuit of defender Marco Pellegrino having chosen him out of three targets, it is claimed.
According to the latest from Fabrizio Romano, Milan are advancing in talks to sign Pellegrino from Club Atletico Platense. The management want to add one more centre-back before the window closes, and the 21-year-old is the favourite option.
Personal terms have already been agreed with the player through his entourage, and a new bid is expected soon to try and agree a transfer fee with Platense.
The Milan board decided to go for Pellegrino over two other options that they were considering, and are now looking to get the deal done quickly so Stefano Pioli has another player to count on.
The Rossoneri have been searching for cover in the centre of defence after letting Matteo Gabbia go to Villarreal on a season-long loan, and it seems that Pellegrino is the chosen player.
He did play as a defensive midfielder some too, but his main position is CB. And has an Italian passport. I know Transfermarketweb says 400k, but remember this is a high potential signing.
This guy is a really good centre back and I for one am happy if this transfer goes through as long as it does not send the wrong message to Simic and Brastagghi and does not hinder their growth.

This kid is worth 400k and we are going to pay 8M plus percentage of resale – hmmm….if M&M did this deal the Maldini haters would be going crazy right now LOL. Oh the irony. Not saying he’s not worth it eventually but hard to see why we are paying that kind of money now – not as if he has other suitors and there is a bidding war for his services. Weird. That is a huge sum of $$ for us to spend on a 5th choice CB?
This – and a paid LOAN for Kean (a player who can’t score consistently, isn’t a #9, commands nothing in the air or box and is basically the same (poorer) player than Okafor) for a whopping 5M with a mandatory option to buy is beyond weird.
Looks like we are starting to get desperate with the season starting in 2 days….

I dont think ACM are going to pay 8m euro , probably just 3-4m euro with % resale . With kalulu maybe play as RB , this kid can get minute play
This kid is highly regarded. Word has it Mancini was going to recruit him for the NT before he left. SO there must be a big upside here. I don’t think Gabbia was ever considered for the NT and I think we had seen what Gabbia was and wasn’t capable of.
