AC Milan are feeling confident that they will be able to reach an agreement with Gianluigi Donnarumma over his renewal, a report claims.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s latest for Calciomercato.com, the renewal of Donnarumma is a key theme for Milan even in the current moment, despite the fact the transfer window continues intensely.
The club made a choice along with agent Mino Raiola to focus first on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s renewal and then on the incoming market, before then turning the renewal of Donnarumma without anxieties despite the fact his contract expires in June 2021.
Milan are not afraid of losing their goalkeeper, Romano adds, and the club are in fact convinced that Donnarumma will renew in the end because that is his will.
There is no real negotiation at the moment, but it will start from the current €6.5m salary and could reach much higher figures. The request is not on the table at the moment purely because discussions have not started, but they will do soon and without pressure, as behind the silence there is optimism.
