Romano: Milan intensify talks with Chelsea over centre-back amid Simakan confusion

AC Milan have intensified talks with Chelsea over the signing of Fikayo Tomori given the announcement of Mohamed Simakan’s injury, it is claimed.

We then spoke exclusively to Simakan’s agent who confirmed that his client is in fact not injured but will not play again for Strasbourg, confirming that he will leave the club.

According to a statement on the club’s official website though, Simakan carried out tests on Monday which determined he must undergo an arthroscopy which will keep him away from the field for a period of about two months.

According to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Milan are in talks with Chelsea for Tomori as announced yesterday. The journalist adds that he is a serious option now Simakan is injured, but other Premier League clubs have also asked to sign him in the current window on loan.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops given that other targets are also being linked.
