CM: Rumours re-emerge regarding potential double swoop for Milan – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

Rumours have been swirling in recent days suggesting that AC Milan are lining up a couple of signings, one for the attack and one for the defence.

Calciomercato.com begin a report by describing Milan as ‘ambitious and hungry’ with the club wanting to grow further, thus making the Scudetto win last season just a starting point.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara however will not betray the principles of the time under Elliott Management meaning signings and renewals will be completed only under the conditions agreed with the ownership.

This also applies to Rafael Leao, as the Rossoneri strongly want to agree a renewal but cannot reach the €8-9m net per season that is being asked for, which is why the idea of Noa Lang from Club Brugge has emerged as a replacement.

The report denies this idea though, stating that his agent was in Italy recently and specifically flew to Milano, but not to meet Milan and rather to see Atalanta about Teun Koopmeiners. The Rossoneri have had no more contacts over Lang.

Meanwhile, there has also been plenty of speculation about Jakub Kiwior of Spezia especially in the build-up to the game last Saturday night. However, there is only an interest at the moment on the part of Milan and nothing advanced with his entourage.

Maldini and Massara will continue closely follow the Polish international but have not yet begun to dialogue with the Ligurian club and it is not certain that they will.

  1. I will just say if u cant keep leao then sell him on time,as the time past u will get less money for him, nobody is irreplacable

      1. To sell Leao for 150 mil , you will have to first find a club willing to pay 150 nil.
Fans need to stop looking at his release clause.
Almost every player in the Spanish league has a half a billion or a billion euros release clause. That’s not their value. That’s just protection.
Milan can demand 150 mil, if they have Leao on a long contract and they don’t want or don’t need to sell.
But in this case , Leao contract is up in a year and a half , it doesn’t look extention is happening , and Milan, not only needs but must sell. The fee they ll get is probably below half than his release clause.
In January, if they can’t agree on an extension, Milan will be the ones calling clubs to sell Leao, not other clubs calling Milan to buy Leao.
It will be a buyers market, and the buyer dictates the price, not the seller .
It’s all about leverage, and Milan losing theirs with every passing day.

        1. If the fee is 75 million or lower then it is better to keep him for 1,5 more years. It shall be 120 million € or more or else they can take a hike
