Journalist claims Sacchi is working as an ‘adviser’ to Inter’s Marotta

Arrigo Sacchi’s name will remain most strongly attached to AC Milan, but a journalist has claimed that he is actually working as an advisor for Inter.

Sacchi is synonymous with the great Milan teams of 30 years ago which featured the likes of Baresi, Maldini, Gullit and Van Basten and are regarding as one of if not the strongest club side of all time.

However, Rossoneri fans will be surprised by what Fabrizio Biasin – a well-known journalist and writer who mainly deals with Inter – revealed in the columns of the newspaper Libero. Speaking on TV Play, Biasin spoke about the Nerazzurri’s euphoria after reaching the final, but added an interesting note.

“Some time ago I was at a dinner and both Beppe Marotta and Sacchi were present. I discovered that Arrigo is an adviser to the general director of Inter. He has a good relationship with Inter, so much so that his criticisms of Simone Inzaghi must be contextualised and taken with a grain of salt,” he said (via MilanLive).

Biasin is referring to when Sacchi criticised Inzaghi’s style of play in the past, stating that he relied little on ideas and more on individual players and asked him to be more courageous in his choices and tactical schemes.

It must be said that Sacchi revealed several years ago that he was a fan of Inter: “Some time ago I was an Inter fan. President Moratti rewarded me with a gold medal from his father’s time. I thanked him and told him: ‘I coached Milan, but I’m not a repentant’.”

  1. Journalists will use any resources to light a fire between two Milanese teams. I don’t think it’s a big deal.
