Saelemaekers proud of reaching Milan landmark but admits recent games have ‘not been easy’ – video

AC Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers was delighted to bring up a landmark with the club and admitted that his recent form has not been good.

It was not the easy win some predicted against Venezia last night as it took Milan 68 minutes to break the deadlock through Brahim Diaz, but Saelemaekers was one of the players who made a big impact off the bench, having a hand in the first goal and setting up Theo Hernandez for the second.

Saelemaekers spoke to the microphones of Milan TV after the win against Paolo Zanetti’s side, with his comments transcribed by MilanNews.

On his 50th appearance and his performance: “I am very happy for my fiftieth match and I am happy with the victory of the team and that the group is doing well.

“It is true that the last few games have not been easy for me but today I entered more determined. I wanted to help the team and I think I did well. Theo also made a difference. For a team it is important that the players enter with this desire to win.

On Saturday’s game: “Spezia are a strong team and we saw it last year. We shouldn’t underestimate them but if we listen to the coach we can do well.”
