Saelemaekers: “We must treat each game as a final, at the end of the season we will see”

AC Milan wide man Alexis Saelemaekers has stressed the importance of treating every game as a final between now and June.

The Rossoneri will be looking to return to winning ways when they host Torino at San Siro on Monday night.

Last time out in the league, Milan let slip a two-goal half time lead against city rivals Inter to lose the Derby della Madonnina by a score of 4-2.

They followed that up with a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final against Juventus on Thursday night, and another big crowd is expected at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Saelemaekers was interviewed by Sky Italia before the game, and his comments were transcribed by MilanNews.it.

He started by reflecting on Thursday’s game against Juventus, when he came off the bench in the final 20 minutes.

“It was a great experience for me, a prestigious match for everyone, it was a great pleasure,” he said.

“In every game we have an obligation to win, we have to focus on tonight and get the three points, the mentality is right, we will do something important tonight.

“We must treat each game as a final, at the end of the season we will see where we will be. We are in a great club and we have a duty to do well.”
