RB Salzburg coach Matthias Jaissle has said that AC Milan are a very strong team but his side are optimistic about the chances.

Speaking during his press conference ahead of the Champions League clash on Tuesday night between RB Salzburg and Milan (via Milan News), Jaissle did not shy away from the fact that he is coming up against a very strong Milan side but he stressed that his players are excited.

“Expectations are high, we want to play as we always do, but the opponent is very strong. The boys are very happy because they are excited, it’s strange to play in the Champions League in Salzburg. We’ll see how the match and then the group will go, we have often managed to play well,” Jaissle said.

On their own chances of getting points on the board straight away in the group stages, he said that the Austrian side are optimistic.

“We are optimistic, we will do the best we can tomorrow night. Will Milan suffer from our pressing? We’ll see tomorrow, I don’t have the game in my mind as well as you do, Milan have great quality in all phases of the game,” he said.

He also added that Milan have stable performances which is why they are the current Serie A champions: “We’ll be up against a very strong opponent, our study of them showed that. They have stable performances, that’s why they are Italian champions.”

The match is taking place at the Salzburg Arena and it will be a sold-out fixture in front of almost 30,000 fans. Both teams will be desperate to get underway with three points and try to secure qualification to the next round.
