Santos source ‘99% confident’ Kaio Jorge will snub Benfica move in favour of Italy switch

By Oliver Fisher -

It seems as though AC Milan are still the frontrunners to land Kaio Jorge from Santos, according to a source close to the Brazilian club.

As per Andre Noruega, who is the ‘Official Representative Santos FC Europe’, Santos prefer the offer that has arrived from Benfica but he has ‘doubt’ that Jorge will accept the Portuguese club as a destination. He adds that he is ‘99% confident’ that the teenager will play in Serie A come September.

Noreuga cites reports from Brazil that claim Santos and Benfica are very close to agreeing a deal for Jorge worth €3.5m with two players (Yony and Gilberto) as counterparts, a percentage of future sale and that Santos get to keep him until the end of the contract.

However, in the end the decision is up to the player and where he wants to continue his career, and he reiterates doubt that Portugal is where Jorge wants to move.
