Tuttosport: Sarri-Tare idea gaining momentum again for Milan – the situation

Marco Rosi / Fotonotizia

AC Milan will soon be able to put the 2024-25 season behind them, and then it will be time to choose a new sporting director and head coach.

These are two decisions that the Milan leadership cannot get wrong given the importance in having a bounce-back season in 2025-26, especially with no European competitions. For this reason, deep reflections are underway.

Sarri and Tare?

As reported this morning by Tuttosport (via MilanNews) and as we exclusively reported some weeks ago, the chances of seeing Maurizio Sarri arrive as the new head coach have risen again.

The former Lazio man could be the right man at the right time, because without any midweek European games he would have all the time to work on his footballing ideas, ones that need time to be assimilated.

At the moment, he seems to be the favourite to take Sergio Conceiçao’s place, but he is not the only name on the list. Xavi and Vincenzo Italiano are also still in the running, with the latter having beaten Conceicao to lift the Coppa Italia.

Before the coach there is another choice that Milan must make and that is to find the new sporting director, a figure that has been sorely lacking in recent seasons. In the last few hours the stock of Igli Tare has risen again, but he is not the only profile either.

The CEO Giorgio Furlani is reflecting and would like to make a last attempt for Tony D’Amico of Atalanta who has always been at the top of his preferences. However, it will not be easy to convince the Bergamo club to let him go.

  1. F*** D’Amico, we always trying so hard for one target, wasting all of our time on it, just not to get it in the end…

  2. All the teams are working on ‘transfers’ already even before summer… Meanwhile our sleepy management do not even know what they want…

We always wait for the last day of Mercato to do random signings and they fail to match with expectations without preseason…

We had a chance to appoint SD Andrea from Atletico but dummy management was caught napping.

We want to get D’Amico who is unlikely to leave his comfort job for our garbage job lol.

We had a chance to sign Marcus Thuram but our greedy board did not want to pay slightly more to his services we ended up with what??? Look how he is performing… How Chukwueze, Jovic, Gimenez, Abraham, CDK has performed… We avoided from 5-7 million extra pay from Thuram but ended up losing over 50 million!!!

We had a chance to appoint Conte, but we went for Nonseca and Conceicao… Look where is Napoli with Conte and look at us lol

Whole Europe is laughing at us 😂😂😂😂

    1. Don’t forget about Olmo and Szoboszlai who could come for peanuts. After everything was already agreed between these two and Boban, management did not approve.

    2. “Whole Europe is laughing at us 😂😂😂😂”

I doubt anyone is even paying attention. After all we’re a midtable team with no european matches next season. So basically we’re like Como, Everton, Mallorca, etc. But then again… Even those clubs have more ambition than us.

  3. “The former Lazio man could be the right man at the right time, because without any midweek European games he would have all the time to work on his footballing ideas, ones that need time to be assimilated.”

Well… Let’s put it this way: Even a local high school janitor would be “the right man” to be our SD compared to the current management we have. It would be a huge improvement. And so would Tare too – obviously.
