Sassuolo coach Alessio Dionisi has confirmed that Andrea Consigli will return to start in goal for the Neroverdi against AC Milan on Sunday.
Speaking during his press conference on Saturday before the game (via Milan News), the Sassuolo coach confirmed that Consigli trained with the team during the week.
He has been covered in recent weeks by Gianluca Pegolo who is not close to Consigli’s level. His return will give Sassuolo a much-needed boost in defence for the game at San Siro.
“He trained during the week, I’m happy that he can return: if he’s 100% he’ll play, otherwise Pegolo will be there who has done well and deserves and is a flag like Magnanelli, if he’s 100% as it seems he will play Consigli, otherwise Pegolo,” Dionisi explained.
There are two more doubts in the Sassuolo squad but Dionisi confirmed that both Rogerio and Domenico Berardi will be in the squad on Sunday.
“It surprises me too, Rogerio didn’t have a shoulder problem. We train today, Rogerio will be available. Berardi has trained and will be there,” he said.
The other player that he was asked about was Murt Muldur. The news was not so good for the defender as he ruled him out of the Milan game and the Atalanta game after that.
“We are a couple of weeks away from knowing if he will be available. Tomorrow he won’t be there, not even with Atalanta, we’ll see from the one after that,” he confirmed.
The match kicks off at San Siro on Sunday at 12:30 CET.
