CM: Sassuolo’s price tag for their midfielder has caught Milan by surprise

By Euan Burns -

The price tag that Sassuolo have put on Hamed Junior Traore has caught AC Milan by surprise and the deal could be hard to complete, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato today, the Neroverdi would like a fee of €30 million for Traore who has had a fantastic season at the Mapei Stadium.

A summit was held in Ibiza in the last few days between Traore’s new agents and Milan’s directors, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara.

The €30 million valuation really took them by surprise and they are now looking more closely at other profiles on the market to bolster the central attacking area of the squad.

It is likely that there will be more discussions down the line but the talks will not be reopened very quickly.

He scored seven goals and got four assists from midfield for Sassuolo this season. Beyond the numbers, his direct runs at opposition defences caused major issues for a lot of teams.

  1. What did they expect from Carnevali? Sassuolo even sells their kits for 30M a pop. Every single player has a price tag that is at least double their value. It is how Sassuolo operates.

  2. But if Juventus want a Sassuolo player, the price suddenly drops and they can also split the transfer fee in 10 payments to be paid within 7 years; should Juventus not have the money to complete a payment, a dinner in a restaurant of Carnevali’s choosing will count as a payment.
