Official: Milan target Scamacca extends contract amid rumours of summer sale

By Mitchell Wilks -

Gianluca Scamacca has extended his contract with Sassuolo, despite rumours linking him with a move away from the club this summer.

Scamacca’s form this season has seen him garner interest from a number of Italian sides, with Milan regularly touted as a potential suitor considering their current striker situation heading into the summer.

But, announced on Sassuolo’s official website, it has been confirmed that Scamacca’s contract has now been renewed through to June 2026.

While a renewal suggests the 23-year-old will stay put with Sassuolo, the likelihood is that it allows the club to negotiate his departure from a stronger position in the summer.

Scamacca has bagged 13 times already this season and is largely expected to make a step up to one of Italy’s top sides, considering his potential.

Sassuolo can now demand a higher transfer fee for their prized asset, making any potential pursuit of the Italian immediately more complicated.

  1. Alright then, get Belotti for free, go for Berardi and develop Lasetic and Nasti for the future. Get Sanchez and Botman to shore up Midfield and Defence and get a promising young left back for Theo cover.

  2. thats how it should be for a player who raised by the club .. proper extension so that the club could benefit for his not so distant future transfer..

  3. He follow belotti path. Extend when have chance to move bigger club’. Well thats not matter too because he prefer go to inter. Paolo Maldini Will be stupid if still insist chasing him due to sassoulo now have full control of transfer fee 40m euro, better sign Origi and if Ibra retire just sign belotti so we don’t waste fund on striker

  4. Dear Franck, Hakan and Gigio,

This is how it’s done when you respect the club you play for, ask Olivier if you need further clarification.

  5. Why all other Italian teams have loyal players trying to get money for their clubs whilst we are struggling with free transfers every year? It sucks.
