Sassuolo know that a couple of their star players are attracting interest from some top Serie A clubs and they have a plan to protect themselves, a report claims.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), Sassuolo have scheduled a meeting with Gianluca Scamacca’s agent to clarify the situation regarding his future and the potential renewal of his contract.
The striker already has interest both in Serie A and abroad, with Milan and Inter the teams that moved first to try and land the 23-year-old. Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali is also working intensively on the renewal of Scamacca, who should sign an extension until 2026 with a salary of €700k net per season plus incentives.
Milan are put off by the initial request for €40m from the Neroverdi whose strategy is clear: to lock down their jewels in order to have more power in negotiations. For this reason, it is unlikely that Milan and Inter will be able to get a cut-price deal done.
Origi should be the main target when looking for a striker.
Yikes!
Did I read the salary right?
