CM: Scamacca parts with agency amid uncertain West Ham future as Milan remain interested

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan retain an interest in Gianluca Scamacca who is struggling at West Ham United and has just changed agent, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com write how Scamacca’s last game with West Ham was in mid-January when he came on for the last part of the defeat against Wolverhampton, having ten days earlier scored the most recent of the seven goals he has this season across all competitions.

The Italian striker’s adventure in England has been a swing of ups and downs, but now Scamacca and the World Soccer Agency – headed by Alessandro Lucci –  have parted ways so the former Sassuolo man will now look for a new agent to look after his interests.

One of the possible solutions is the Stellar Group who have the likes of Grealish, Elanga, Pickford and Tierney as Premier League clients, while in Italy they manage Szczesny, Kalulu and Amrabat, plus Real Madrid’s Camavinga in LaLiga.

Scamacca could also soon be on this list, though Beppe Riso’s Gr Sports are also interested in adding him to their list of clients. They have represented Davide Frattesi for years, who has a great friendship with Scamacca dating back to their days in the Lazio youth team.

Once the new agent has been chosen, Scamacca will also evaluate the future. At the moment a farewell to West Ham seems unlikely, unless offers exceed €45m in the summer given West Ham paid €42m.

Milan are admirers of the 24-year-old and they are looking for a striker for next season. A couple of years ago they had the opportunity to sign him for €25m but now would have to spend close to €50m to bring him back to Italy, which seems unlikely. However, things could change if opportunities arise.

  1. West Ham will not be able to recoup what they paid, also they don’t need to. To balance the books they would only need to receive €36 mil which is definitely achievable

    1. Agreed. The article does not take amortization into account. If West Ham get relegated an even better deal might be had, like paying 100% of his wages for a one year loan and then signing him for ~30m on a compulsory buyout clause in 2024.

  2. What’s Scamacca’s salary?
I would love him on loan with the option to buy. I think he would be perfect striker signing. He is big, athletic, skilled and has a nasty streak in him, like Zlatan.
His hold up and build up play is very good as well.
I’ve wanted him since they first reported Milan interest in him while he was still on loan at Ascoli.
Hopefully west ham do the same thing with him as they did with Vlasic. Send him on loan with a cut price buy option

      1. I just saw that he makes £90k a week, which puts him at £4.7 mil a season. That’s 5.3 million Euros. Milan isn’t paying that.
The only way he comes to Milan on loan is if west ham covers part of his salary

        1. Given that we’re in desperate need for a productive striker that is under 30, it’s possible we offer 4.5-5m per year. It’s under his current wage, but he’s be playing CL football and challenging for trophies, unlike at West Ham. It may be enough to bridge the decrease.

    1. He’s overrated. Small team player. Another Borriello, Destro, etc…small market strikers that cannot handle pressure of bigger clubs. Pass.

  3. Scamacca should be a priority.

He was just about to break out as one of the top 3 strikers in the league.

He’s Italian and seems to have potential with very few limits, he’s almost Zlatan like.

  4. I’m not as high on him as others. I think for the most part Sassuolo players are overrated. How can a team have as many €40M players and not make European places?

  5. Like we didn’t see this coming LOL. Name the last time an Italian striker succeeded in England???? Pls pls do not sign this guy. Overrated. Waste of $$. He is a player for a small team that is all. Only reason he gets mentioned is because he’s Italian. Hard pass

      1. Based on what would you sign him? What did he do good in his career? He played good 6 months. I wrote he will fail in England because he sucks, 16 matches 3 goals. We can find better strikers for half the money…

        1. Just a small point of reference, he is almost 25 and Haaland scored more goals in his 1st season compared to Scamacca’s whole career. I understand Haaland is a beast, but you can’t be considered a good striker at 24 with under 10 goals per season. Horrible.

    1. Funny, Shevchenko was a consistent 15+ goal per season striker (with a few 20+ goal seasons) in Italy, he want to England and then stopped scoring. Overall is he overrated?

    1. Yeah, he doesn’t score enough like Giroud and never will. Milan need a better striker, anyone from Jonathan David to Beto would be better. Beto is better than Scamacca and cost half the money…
