Rabiot: The midfielder underwent an MRI scan for the left calf injury he sustained while playing for the national team. The scan revealed a tear in the soleus muscle.

The player will be re-evaluated in about ten days, but La Gazzetta dello Sport are already talking about a month out. The midfielder sustained the injury after a blow to the calf.

Estupinan: The wing-back continued the treatment on his left ankle, which was necessary for the after-effects of the sprain he suffered while playing for the national team, and then did some running work on the pitch.

Saelemaekers: The Belgian trained individually on the pitch and is recovering well, having sustained a hamstring injury during the Belgium vs. North Macedonia match.

Pulisic: The forward is scheduled to have his right thigh flexor muscles checked tomorrow. The American was injured during the friendly between the USA and Australia during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

  1. Ugh, the injuries are piling up and to some key players. I had a calf tear this summer and it took my about a month to recover, but I’m not a professional athlete so it may be quicker for Rabiot because his body is better at recovering, or slower because they won’t want to risk further injury. But the set of matches through the Roma game are going to be a real test for this squad on a number of levels.

  2. This could easily be a turning point for Milan in a negative way. Remember, without rabiot we lost vs cremonese and we had a tough time vs lecce. Rabiot has been huge for Milan’s midfield. Worried what his absence may bring to Milan. Don’t even mention not also having pulisic while Leao, Nkunku and Gimenez have not produced what they should have

  3. Same old story, it’s getting boring at this point. It’s either our great staff, or their even greater colleagues in the various national teams. Hell, maybe it’s not a coincidence and the two are connected. Who even cares anymore? We changed doctors and coaches bring their own staff in charge of the everyday physical routines anyway, so what’s left there to do? Let’s hope it doesn’t do much damage. Time for some bench players to prove their worth.

  4. Next man up. Injuries happen. Now we will see if the squad they assembled is good or not. I am not worried about LWB as I am even more comfortable having Bartesaghi on the pitch than Estupiñan. I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Ricci and RLC so far as well. Can they boss the game like Rabiot? No. But against mid tier teams I would expect them to do the job. Pulisic is a big loss but if we can’t plug that hole for 4-6 weeks with Leao and Nkunku, I would be shocked. The biggest question mark for me is Athekame and fortunately it seems Alexis has the least serious injury.

    1. Too bad Milan aren’t playing against Mid-Tier teams only.
After Fiorentina and Pisa, we have Atalanta and Roma. This will be a real test of how the bench players can do. Not having Pulisic, Rabiot, Saelesmaker and even Estupinan will be tough against top 4 contenders.

  5. The international break has been costly for Milan. Rabiot is a big loss. But we have players that can do a decent enough job, if they all play like they have so far. Going to be interesting to see how and who Allegri responds with.

  6. Let me get this straight. I believe the first team squad has 19 players in it. So, if four are on the injury list… this doesn’t bode well for the campaign. There definitely needs to be some more depth. I’m not talking crazy numbers like the club has had in the past, but this is an issue that needs careful consideration.

  7. Milan should win scudetto after 6 matches, Leao this Leao that, Pulisic and rabiot the best, sell musah ……but we forgot we didnt shop well in tranfer window . We forgot that injuries will come and then Teams like Napoli that got a 2nd eleven will show us why they are winners. We forgot that its a team sport quality reinforcement are needed.
