Scaroni: “FFP? We would prefer a voluntary agreement”

By Fred Ilondo -

New Milan President Paolo Scaroni presented Diego Laxalt, Samu Castillejo and Tiemoue Bakayoko, who appear to be Milan’s last signings of the summer.

The president started by firmly state that the market was officially closed and that the club was not expecting any new signings. He also took the opportunity to show compassion for the tragedy of the motorway bridge that collapsed earlier this week which also saw Milan’s game against Genoa postponed.

“AC Milan sends its condolences to Genoa, our thoughts are with the families of the victims. We feel it’s right for the game to be postponed to respect those who suffered from this tragedy. We still don’t know when the fixture will be played but we will soon find out.”

On FFP: “For the time being we still have no update for the settlement agreement or the financial fair-play, we would prefer a voluntary agreement of course but at the moment there is no insight.

“There are a lot of procedures involved with financial fair-play, we cannot be sure about what will happen next but around November we might have an update on what is going to happen.”

On the club’s situation: “We are heading in the right direction to increase our revenue and bring more sponsors on board. The transfer market has been formidable for me, we are taking small steps forward to reach our goals, as an AC Milan fan myself I am very happy with the progress we have made.”
