Yet another source is claiming that Oliver Glasner has been in talks with AC Milan and is poised to take over if the decision is made to sack Stefano Pioli.
Independent journalist Ronald Morgan reported yesterday that Milan have been in talks with the Austrian coach Glasner for ‘a while’ and he would be very keen to take the job should it become available.
Now, Alessandro Schiavone – who works for Gianluca Di Marzio and MilanNews among others – not only thinks Glasner is lined up but also that there is an ultimatum in place regarding Stefano Pioli. He claims that Glasner will go to Milan if Pioli fails to take maximum points from the games against Sassuolo and Empoli.
Negotiations are ‘at an advanced stage’ between the Milan board and the Austrian but two wins and an upturn in performances would put everything on stand-by for the time being in terms of dismissing Pioli.
Glasner is most known for his time with Eintracht Frankfurt, when during his first season they won the Europa League, beating West Ham United and Barcelona in the process. In his last season with the Bundesliga side, he took them to the Round of 16 in the Champions League.
