Schira: Milan in talks over renewal of midfielder – five-year extension and big pay rise on the table

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working on the renewal of Franck Kessie and have both a salary and duration in mind for his new contract, a report claims.

According to the latest from Nicolo Schira, the Rossoneri management are not only working on securing the extensions of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu – both expiring on 30 June – but also Kessié too. The confirmation came from Paolo Maldini before the game against Napoli, as during a pre-game interview he confirmed talks are on with the Ivorian and also Davide Calabria.

The report claims that Milan have offered Kessié a five-year contract with a salary of €3.5m per year with negotiations in progress, and optimism filtering regarding the contractual extension. Schira adds that Kessie is now the best midfielder in Serie A along with Barella having scored nine goals in the league alone, and the future fate of Milan also passes through him.

Some Premier League clubs have in fact asked for information from his agent, but the Ivorian is giving priority to Milan for a renewal.
