Report: Fellow Serie A side to rival Milan for Tanganga

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are not the only Serie A side to be plotting a move for Japhet Tanganga this summer as Roma have now joined the race, a report claims.

As has been reported by Il Tempo (via Calciomercato.com), the Giallorossi are ready to try and rival Milan for the signature of the Tottenham Hotspur defender who is keen to move and get more regular game time.

Milan have been chasing him for many weeks but Jose Mourinho’s side are now in the picture. The Mourinho element could be an issue for the Rossoneri.

This is because the Portuguese coach was at Tottenham Hotspur before joining Roma and he gave Tanganga his first chance in the first team, plucking him from the youth ranks.

He has not developed so well under subsequent coaches and that is why Spurs are willing to let him leave on loan. The good relationship with Mourinho could be an issue for Milan.
