Sky: Before signing with Milan Tonali will have to renew with Brescia – the reason

By Oliver Fisher -

Sandro Tonali will first of all extend his contract with Brescia before completing his move to AC Milan, according to a report.

Gianluca Di MarzioFabrizio RomanoPietro Balzano Prota and Vito Angele are all reporting that Sandro Tonali to Milan is a done deal. Milan have managed to secure the midfielder on a paid loan with an option to buy, beating competition from Inter.

According to Sky Italia (via MilanNews), everything is now done for Tonali’s move to Milan, but before signing with the Rossoneri, the young Regista will have to renew his contract with Brescia which is due to expire in 2022.

There is method behind this, however: since the transfer will be on loan, in case of failure to exercise their option to buy, Brescia president Massimo Cellino wants to prevent a situation whereby the player returns next summer with only one year left on his contract, which weakens Brescia’s position.
