Sky: Chances of Rangnick joining Milan have decreased despite December agreement

By Oliver Fisher -

The chances of seeing Ralf Rangnick arrive at AC Milan this summer in some capacity are falling as the days go by, one journalist claims.

There is still conflicting speculation in the media regarding whether Stefano Pioli will stay on as head coach or leave, whether Rangnick will arrive and whether director duo Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will depart.

On Friday, Manuele Baiocchini spoke to Sky Italia (via MilanLive) and reiterated that in December 2019 there were concrete talks between Rangnick and CEO Ivan Gazidis that resulted in agreements.

Included in these agreements were bilateral penalties in the event that a definitive and official agreement were not reached, and now the Coronavirus emergency has slowed down the operation.

It is not yet known if and how the current season will end, therefore it is difficult to plan the future for Milan. The German for his part is becoming less keen on the idea of a new adventure with the Rossoneri in Italy, as he wants to work in a clearer scenario.

Baiocchini adds that the percentage chance of the current Head of Sport and Development Soccer of Red Bull arriving at Milan are falling, but the situation could change in the coming weeks.
