Sky: Chiesa closer to Juventus than Milan but Ambrosini teases “Maybe after the Play-Off…”

Juventus appear to be the team leading the race to land Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa, according to a report.

The Rossoneri have had a busy summer so far, with a new deal secured for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the permanent arrival of Ante Rebic also confirmed, plus the signings of Brahim Diaz, Sandro Tonali and Ciprian Tatarusanu.

However, Chiesa is a name that continues to be linked as a potential dream signing to fully complete the squad for the season ahead.

Speaking to Sky (via MilanNews), Gianluca Di Marzio commented on reports of interest from Milan in the 22-year-old Italy international, confirming there were tentative attempts.

“Milan tried but up to a certain point, we never had confirmation,” Di Marzio said.

Interestingly, Massimo Ambrosini – who was in the studio at the time – the added: “Maybe after the Play-Off…”

Di Marzio then went on to add how Juventus have a plan to try to sign Chiesa, because Fiorentina have opened up to the idea of a high-cost loan with option/obligation to buy.
