Sky journalist suggests Chukwueze could return sooner than expected

By Oliver Fisher -

Sky correspondent Manuele Baiocchini believes that Samuel Chukwueze could be back for AC Milan sooner than originally expected.

It is now nine days since the official website reported that Chukwueze had returned early to Milanello. Nigerian suffered a left hamstring injury while away on international duty, thus ruling him out of his country’s match against Mozambique.

A number of sources then reported that a month of absence is expected for the winger and he should be out at least until the November international break.

Therefore, Chukwueze was almost certain to miss the following matches: Juventus at home, PSG away (Champions League), Napoli away, Udinese home, PSG (Champions League) and Lecce away.

Now, however, Baiocchini has given an update live on Sky in which he talked about Chukwueze’s condition and he had some good news.

“Pioli doesn’t have great alternatives. He certainly doesn’t have any up front, because it’s true that Okafor will be available again on Sunday and Jovic will try to be there, but Chukwueze certainly isn’t yet,” he said (via Radio Rossonera).

“In the meantime, however, let’s say one thing: the return times could be quicker. He could return a little earlier than after the third international break, but clearly we will see how the Milan medical staff will evaluate.”
