Daniel Maldini could be set for his second start of the season as Brahim Diaz is struggling ahead of tomorrow night’s game against Hellas Verona.
Speaking on Sky (via MilanNews), Peppe Di Stefano reported the latest news from Milanello ahead of tomorrow night’s game against Verona at San Siro. He recalled how Pioli – in the pre-match press conference – spoke of Brahim Diaz’s illness and therefore it seems a sign he will not be fit enough to start.
This morning in training at Milanello the Milan head coach tried Daniel Maldini in the attack with Ante Rebic and Alexis Saelemaekers on the wings and Olivier Giroud up front.
In midfield it is expected that the double pivot will be Sandro Tonali and Franck Kessie while in defence there will be new chances for Fode Ballo-Tourè, Alessio Romagnoli, Fikayo Tomori and Davide Calabria in front of Ciprian Tatarusanu. The decisive training session however will be tomorrow.
Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Calabria, Tomori, Romagnoli, Ballo-Touré; Tonali, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Maldini, Rebic; Giroud.
still not feel confident with Maldini as CAM/SS because Verona is not a weak team. Pioli must prepare plan B
Sorry agustinar but this is exactly the kind of match he should play and atleast it is at home and diaz will get some needed rest and hopefully be ready for the porto game on tuesday. If we doesnt give a talent like maldini a chance in an on paper easy match when will they ever get a chance ? Add to that we will maybe also be able to give some minutes to krunic later on in the match so he gets back into rhytmn after his injury.
Unfortunately brahim has contracted covid19 so propably wont play for the next couple of weeks at minimum.
Now, we are all talking about Krunic! I’ve always liked him anyway for his commitment and aggressiveness on the pitch anytime he is called upon. Diaz should rest. Maldini should play.
ABDULRAHMAN i agree and personally never minded him as long as he wasnt utilized on the left wing which didnt really make much sense in my view but he has allways stayed profesional and lately before his injury did play very well so hopefully he will soon get back to that form again. In the end though a team isnt all about stars and starters as its also about having utility players for depth that are ready when called upon so in my view he certainly can be and has been of some value to the team. and club
Pls fans is good to give a chance 4 our talented young players, this is the way that Donn. and other bcame a starter, danieal maldini I wish all the best forzamilan.
Maldini at 8 or 10? This Verona match could be a big moment for him.
Never mind, we will beat them.. 1-0 for Milan!
