It is now not long until AC Milan take to the field against Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park, and Peppe Di Stefano has provided an update on Sky.
A few hours before kick-off of the second round of the Champions League group stage between Borussia Dortmund and Milan, Di Stefano spoke to Sky to give some more news in view of the game.
In particular, in addition to the formation choices that have been clear for days now, he focused on the climate that there is surrounding the Rossoneri in Dortmund and on the atmosphere that surrounds the context of the match.
“We are here in the heart of Dortmund, there are Milan fans who have come from all over Italy and beyond. There will be more than four thousand tonight, not only 3813 within the guest sector, but above all there are many in other sectors too,” he said (via Radio Rossonera).
“There is maximum attention from the police, there are vans everywhere, on every corner of the street. I will also give you this particularity: on a building to our left there is the police who from above control and monitor moment by moment what happens in this square where the AC Milan fans meet.
“It seems to me there is a lot of peace and a lot of serenity. There is great anticipation, great desire to play the match this evening in front of the Yellow Wall, in front of the Dortmund fans who will number 81 thousand but, I repeat, there will be four thousand Rossoneri fans accompanying and pushing Stefano Pioli’s team.
Then, the Sky correspondent spoke about the opponents who will face the Rossoneri tonight.
“They’re a less good team than last year, but they are unbeaten in the Bundesliga with 4 wins and 2 draws, even if they are yet to meet a top-tier side. They suffered a defeat in the match against PSG, he lost important elements such as Bellingham, who is missing from Terzic’s team.”
Finally, Di Stefano spoke about the absentees for tonight’s game as well as how Milan are expected to line up this evening.
“Milan are missing 4: Kalulu, Bennacer, Krunic and Loftus-Cheek. The absence of the last two, however, does not weigh. It doesn’t weigh on their mind because in the past the intention and desire was to always play only with the starters, because perhaps the alternatives weren’t there.
“Now there are alternatives: Musah plays tonight together with Reijnders and Pobega. There is much more serenity and perhaps awareness of having a much deeper squad. There is no change in attack, and therefore Chukwueze, Okafor and Jovic start from the bench.
“The only German in the Milan squad is Malick Thiaw, who was born in Dusseldorf, 60km from here. Today, among other things, there will be family and friends here at the stadium for him.”
