Sky: Gazidis’ unexplained Milanello absence – he has not seen Milan train for three months

By Oliver Fisher -

If Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are at Milanello every day to follow the team, the same cannot be said of CEO Ivan Gazidis.

The Rossoneri’s CEO has not been seen at Milan’s training headquarters for some time. In fact according to Sky Italia (as cited by MilanLive), the former CEO of Arsenal hasn’t been spotted at a training session since March 6.

That is three months in which the managing director of the club has not been present. This was normal during the complete lockdown, but with the resumption of training it was imagined that he would visit the team.

However, the South African manager is in contact with Stefano Pioli, the coach to whom he has always expressed his appreciation. It is now clear though that Gazidis has decided to entrust the bench to another coach and Ralf Rangnick appears to be the man who is very much in pole position.

The reason of Gazidis’ prolonged absence – like a lot of things at Milan at the moment – remains unexplained.
