AC Milan face competition from two Bundesliga heavyweights for Serhou Guirassy, a report claims, while Stuttgart want to keep hold of him.
A meeting at the club headquarters between technical director Geoffrey Moncada and the Stuttgart management – led by Thomas Henning who is Head of Recruitment for the German club – took place last Wednesday, as we wrote about.
The main talking point of the discussion was Guirassy, a striker who scored 30 goals in 30 games this season. The centre-forward was pursued by Milan also during the most recent January mercato but they were unable to get a deal over the line, yet the interest remains.
According to Florian Plettenberg from Sky Germany, VfB Stuttgart would love to keep Guirassy, but internally the club currently do not expect him to stay given the amount of interest, despite their Champions League finish.
Borussia Dortmund are still trying to sign the 28-year-old centre-forward, with their director Sebastian Kehl having started talks. He is described as being a ‘top target’ for Dortmund.
Not only that, but Guirassy is still on Bayern Munich’s radar too. Much depends on whether their new head coach Vincent Kompany will choose to play with two strikers as he has done regularly.
The Guinea international has a release clause of around €18-20m which will be active during the summer transfer window, a figure that none of the interested clubs should have a problem paying.
OH SNAP! They wait around to figure out who they want to bring in, they will miss out on this guy too. Then they will be forced to invest into a more expensive option?
Also I find it peculiar that With Kane there, and
with rights to Zee, Bayern are interested in Guirassy? They would rather invest in Guirassy than bring the Dutchman back? Dortmund would make more sense.
Not sure why Bayern is linked to literally everyone. LOL!!!
Cause they are an ambitious team who always tries to be the best. This Milan can learn a thing or two from them.
Their choice of coach makes me question their judgement. I would take Fonseca over Kompany any day.
BM were rejected by Germany’s coach, Zidane, Xabi Alsonso etc and then they took Kompany. Several top players are said to want to depart, that might the reason why more established coaches rejected BM.
No doubt there is a reason they settled for Kompany but the same argument made against Fonseca for Milan can be made against Kompany for Bayern (even more so).
Ambitious enough to hire a manager that guided Burnley to relegation….
He is young and promising coach, they are taking a risk with him, but they wont think twice to replace him if it doesn’t work out. And let me tell you, they wont be satisfied with top 4. But i like how you ignore the fact that they have been winning the league title for the past 10 seasons, plus CL, plus bunch of Cup titles. That’s kind of ambitious lol.
Like hiring kompany as manager?
Our Achilles heel is our salary cap. The reason they haven’t moved decisively for Serhou is his salary demands. If we can’t get him or David we should brace ourselves for Jovic and Okafor leading our attach. And maybe Colombo coming back because they saw something in him.
GGWP Furlani. Next target please.
