Mike Maignan is one of the names on Bayern Munich’s wish list as they look for a potential new number one goalkeeper moving forward, according to a journalist.
While Bayern have just renewed the contracts of both Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich until 2025, there will undoubtedly be the need to find a longer-term option given that they are 37 and 35 years of age respectively.
According to what is being reported Sky Germany – as cited by Marcel Möller – Bayern are ‘scouting Maignan’ but there are currently ‘no concrete negotiations’ ongoing between the Bundesliga champions and Milan.
Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel is also on Bayern‘s list, while the Bavarian club have been ‘impressed’ by Alex Nübel, so there are domestic options that they could explore too.
Calciomercato.com recently reported that Milan plan to begin renewal talks with Maignan soon given his deal expires in 2026, and in our most recent bonus podcast we spoke about the chances of the Frenchman – among other Milan stars – leaving any time soon.
Everyone saying Theo, Leao or Maignan won’t be sold because so and so said this and that, him and her love being in Milan more than here or there…Sandro loved Milan more than all three, he was the first one they sold.
Everyone says they love it here until a team shows them they can make more money in 3 years over there than they will make in 9 over here because we low ball the shit out of our players. Everyone jumps at the first glimpse of a better concrete opportunity. If you can’t pay the best Goalie in the world or the best goalie in Europe or ITALY at the time when they are already on your team a fair salary, they look around and say, how will we get any better? They don’t pay us what we deserve, who will they attract and pay what they deserve to join us? We played and delivered results driving our bodies into the ground, giving above and beyond, then they offer us rock bottom salaries for it? Why should I, no one else would.
So they walk out the door, to teams that want to win on the field, not on bank statements and in shareholder meetings where screwing them, our players, is something that is praised and celebrated.
Giroud, 3 years, playing game in game out…they didn’t want to dish out 15 million and 4 million a year to a guy who might score twice as many as him, give him us a chance at one more title before he gets injured or retires for good. They didn’t think it wss important to bring in a scorer to be sure we could see another round 16 in the champions league.
They built a team this summer, with record profits the year prior, after selling our best midfielder, to get full of injury prone, bottom of the barrel players, reserve level players, or in unproven leagues, following a season we got massacred and humiliated by Inter infront of the whole world, got beat by a Juventus that was rebuilding to a CL spot. They built a team with as many goals as Antwerp, to win in the board rooms, but again, be humiliated on the field. They risked our reputation, to fullfil a vision of climbing up the Jimmy Bean Stalk.
Never mind what this Milan funded site says, at least one or two, if we dont qualify for CL, all those three will be out the door this summer, I told you last year the minute Maldini left, this team’s credibility between upstair and on the field was toast. We won’t make the CL this season, we won’t be in it next year either, I bet my house on it, we will be in 6th place. They didn’t buy a scorer when we had two in our palms. They played cheapskate, lure a rat in a cheese trap game, instead of being upfront eith our targets, got burned. We let one go to a direct rival, and balked at a reasonable price for someone that could have helped us avoid the entire mess this season has become domestically as well as Europe.
We are ran by incompetent morons. Said it then, I will say it again. The core of this team won’t make it past another two years.
Furlani is smiling reading this news. Another core player he can sacrifice to satisfy his daddy.
What is there to scout? Everybody already knows he is quality.
They will be “concrete” when he gets into last year of contract. This menagement can’t renew contracts of Maignan,Theo and Leao anymore. They are here here just because they believed in Maldini. These players have seen that they are above this team capatibilities and they cannot grow anymore. You can obviously see their disapointment with the new menagement and you can obviously see the lack of the interest based on how they play. If we wanna dream we can ignore that but reality is different. They deserve to play with the best, not just being the best in a team where every year they will get new talented players that need to be build up.
Manuel Neuer is getting old but is still a pretty great keeper so i wouldn’t be too surprised if they keep him until 2025 season where the cl final will be held in munich and then try to give him an appropriate sendoff at home.
