Sky: Giroud begins saying farewell to fans at Milanello – “It’s goodbye time”

Olivier Giroud has begun to say goodbye to the AC Milan fans after the announcement that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season, a report claims.

It had been speculated about for weeks, but yesterday it was finally announced by Giroud himself that he will be leaving Milan at the end of the season as the striker gave an emotional interview to Milan TV.

As Peppe Di Stefano reported on Sky (via MilanNews), Milan trained this morning at Milanello after meeting together for breakfast. The Rossoneri are preparing for the last away match of the season which will be on Saturday evening at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino against Torino.

It will be 90 minutes of no consequence in terms of the table for Milan, but for the Granata it could be a last chance to try and get a spot in Europe for next season. It will also be their last home game under the departing head coach Ivan Juric.

At the beginning of the week, Giroud announced his farewell to Milan after three years. The French striker will join his friend Hugo Lloris in the MLS at Los Angeles FC.

This morning, upon leaving the Milanello sports centre, Giroud was one of the most acclaimed by the fans who braved the rain. The Frenchman himself was also emotional and, as Di Stefano reports, he said to a fan: “It’s goodbye time.”
