Sky: Ibrahimovic spoke with Maldini after Milan-Cagliari – his renewal increasingly likely

By Oliver Fisher -

It is increasingly likely that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will sign a new deal to stay at AC Milan into next season, according to a report.

The Swede showed his value despite being 38 years of age as he helped catapult Milan following his arrival. The team ended the season with a run of 12 league games without defeat (including nine wins), with Ibrahimovic netting 10 times in Serie A.

Now the attention has turned towards the future of the striker, with multiple outlets now suggesting that he will sign a renewal to remain for at least the 2020-21 campaign.

According to a report from Sky Italia (via MilanNews), straight after Saturday’s 3-0 win against Cagliari – during which he scored a stunning second goal – Zlatan spoke with the managers of the sports area, in particular with Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara.

Ibra will travel between Milan and Monte Carlo in the next few hours, so he will certainly meet Mino Raiola to take stock of the renewal of the contract, which becomes increasingly probable.
